AECS Visit to Jaltest
Last month we attended the annual Jaltest Distributor Training course hosted by Cojali in Spain. Cojali manufacture a range of heavy vehicle cooling and brake system parts and within the Cojali business is Jaltest who manufacture, support and train in the use of their multi brand heavy vehicle and equipment diagnostic scan tool.
The focus of the week was to immerse distributors in Jaltest diagnostics with four days of theory and practical training and assessment, while also strengthening the Jaltest community.
Training alongside distributors from Australia, South Africa, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Poland, Cyprus, Greece, the Netherlands and Israel reinforced how important quality multi brand diagnostics are to running a successful commercial repair business. This is where Jaltest differs from other brands I have seen - they are so much more than a scan tool. Their “Info Plus” add on is an easy to navigate comprehensive database providing wiring diagrams, component location and identification, as well as testing and repair process assistance. I mentioned the Jaltest community earlier which is another added benefit for Jaltest users. With such a diverse worldwide fleet to diagnose, Jaltest’s engineering, technical and training teams are always working to strengthen their offering and are well supported by the Jaltest community of repairers feeding back real diagnosis and repair cases.
There is always new technology appearing as manufacturers strive to remain current in the never ending emissions reduction environment. We spent time learning about these, how they work and how they fail. Then we broke into groups and worked together to diagnose and repair excavators, tractors, forklifts and trucks. A key takeaway for me was the reminder to select the correct vehicle. That has always been important on scan tools and if you want to find the correct vehicle with all its respective subsystems take the time up front to get that right.
It was a pleasure to be invited along to a solid week of training, learn more about Jaltest diagnostics and take a tour of Cojali’s impressive manufacturing plant where Jaltest scan tools are designed and built. Not to be outdone by the training and the premises, Jaltest’s staff also provided fantastic hospitality with great company, great food and a tour through the magnificent grounds of King Phillip II's Palace in Alcazar, a must visit if you ever find yourself in Spain!
