SERVICING AND CALIBRATION
AECS carries out servicing and calibration runs across New Zealand for brake testers, air conditioning machines, gas analysers, and other workshop equipment. Keep your equipment accurate, reliable, and ready for work.
Why regular servicing and calibration matters
When workshop equipment is overdue for service or calibration, it can affect accuracy, reliability, and confidence in the results. Regular checks help make sure your equipment is performing as it should and can help identify issues before they turn into bigger problems.
For brake testing equipment in particular, calibration is especially important. NZTA’s VIRM requires brake performance testing equipment to be calibrated at least every 12 months, or more often if required by the manufacturer. Inspection equipment must also have current calibration.

We also provide servicing and calibration for other workshop equipment supplied by AECS. If you are unsure whether your equipment is covered, get in touch and we can advise.
Brake tester servicing and calibration
For workshops carrying out WoF and CoF inspections, brake tester servicing and calibration is critical. NZTA requires brake performance testing equipment to be calibrated at least every 12 months. Equipment must also meet manufacturer requirements and have current calibration.
Regular servicing and calibration helps:
maintain accurate brake force readings
support compliance requirements
reduce the risk of unreliable or inconsistent test results
keep your operation running with confidence
Industry guidance also notes that when calibration indicators show a unit is due or overdue, it should be calibrated as soon as feasible because it is no longer certified to NZTA standards.
Nationwide servicing runs
Each year, we carry out calibration and servicing runs across New Zealand. This allows us to support customers nationwide and make it easier to keep equipment maintained without the hassle of organising multiple service providers.
Because we work with workshops across the country, we also service equipment for businesses that did not originally purchase through AECS.
